Penny Skateboards South Africa
From a young age Penny Skateboards founder, Ben Mackay, has been inspired and influenced by skateboarding in every area of his life. Here he is at the age of five on his first ever plastic skateboard. He asked his dad to move the Kingswood out of the garage so he could make this kicker ramp. He got his board second hand, and painted it blue with gold pinstripes. He thought it was the baddest thing ever. Once he conquered the garage, he started bombing hills. It was terrifying, it was exhilarating, it was bliss. Almost thirty years on, he realised it was time, time to bring that plastic board back, and back for good.
Twelve years experience in skateboard manufacturing gave him a strong appreciation for what it takes to make great quality skateboards. He's channelled everything he's learnt in manufacturing and design to come up with a high performance, long lasting, ultra-fun plastic skateboard. When you look at a skateboard you can see whether its fundamentals are balanced. You can see it as each component comes together to make the final product and you can feel it under your feet and in your hands.
Each Penny Skateboard is built with the highest quality raw materials and fanatical attention to detail. Penny Skateboards are designed and built to look good, perform exceptionally, and exceed all your expectations. It's what sets Penny Skateboards above all the rest.
Penny Skateboards, since forever.
